The Microsoft Translator team is looking for a talented software engineer to help bring the power of customized translations to our customers. The Translator team is responsible for nearly all translation services offered by all Microsoft products servicing millions of users every day. From individual users to large enterprise customers, we handle them all.
The candidate will be working on the services which are responsible for delivering customized translations to our customers based upon the data they provide us. This is a key component of our service and offers differentiated value to our customers. We are looking for a self-motivated full stack engineer to help us continually improve and deliver the best experience possible for our customers. The candidate will be improving components of existing services as well as designing and developing new features within Custom Translator. They will also collaborate with our researchers and work closely to productionalize start of the art research.

This is a Part-Time role.

Responsibilities

  • Taking new and existing Custom Translator components through the full development life-cycle
  • Take part in monitoring and addressing Custom Translator live site operations issues and help improve the services scalability
  • Learn about and incorporate new Azure features and services into the Custom Translator stack so that the service uses the latest

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical IT work experience is required.
  • 3+ years of coding experience in a managed language (C# preferred, but not required)
  • 3+ years of experience in a modern frontend framework (React/Redux preferred, but not required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure service experience in any of the following services
    • Azure App Services
    • Azure SQL Server
    • Azure Storage
  • Azure Active Directory
  • Git version control platform
  • Visual Studio Release Manager pipelines and releases
  • .Net Framework/Core/Standard
  • REST API development
