Within Microsoft Federal Services, the U.S. Delivery Center, (USDC) Center of Excellence, (COE) in Las Colinas, TX is responsible for the remote delivery of services offerings for our U.S. Federal customers. Our goal is to drive high Customer satisfaction for all deliveries, with a cross-functional team of Consultants supporting cloud adoption across M365, Azure and D365 and specific to the Government cloud environments.
We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our USDC Applications (Apps) team in the functional capacity of a Technical Lead. As a USDC Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leadership in the following areas:
  • Opportunity Pursuits – work with extended Account Team, Architects, SSSP and Pursuit Lead in pursuit and deal shaping efforts. Work activities will include supporting pursuit team development of budgetary estimates, staffing plans, statements of work, and customer scoping interaction.
  • Engagement Delivery – function as Senior Technical Leader to provide oversight of USDC project team to ensure all facets of the delivery are satisfied. Act as technical leader of USDC engagements, and partner with extended MCS delivery / account team.
  • Team Development – grow and develop team member capabilities through technical mentoring, training plan development, skill coaching and accreditation of MW offerings to ensure delivery readiness.
  • Offering Development – enhance and expand existing offerings delivered through the USDC as well as create new offerings and solutions to address gaps within the Federal PubSec accounts. Includes IP authoring, delivery guides, estimation, and schedule development.

These and related activities as directed by the Apps Manager will drive customer adoption and consumption of our Apps portfolio of services.
In depth knowledge and experience working within our Apps portfolio is required. Daily work activities (post Covid-19 office restrictions) will be performed in our Las Colinas, TX office, where we maintain an ISO compliant, secured office space. An active U.S. Federal clearance or qualifications to apply for security clearance is also required.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of a Senior Consultant (Senior Technical Lead) include:
  • Collaborate across the USDC with all Senior Tech Leads to accelerate USDC usage through Federalized offering development and new customer solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership across the App Innovation Center of Excellence
  • Develop training plans to ramp USDC Consultants onto offerings and solutions delivered by the USDC team.
  • Prepare communication plans and key message content that align to client culture and business rhythm.
  • Oversee projects and programs as assigned to drive USDC adoption and success metrics.
  • Maintain and expand technical depth within our Apps technical capability - solution areas ​

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience required in one or more primary Application Development and Modernization technical areas:
    • Experience with application development in an enterprise environment including:
      • Programming languages and associated toolsets such as C#, .NET, Java, Angular, and/or NodeJS
      • SCRUM/Agile and the end to end development lifecycle
      • DevOps (CICD / Pipelines)
      • Azure PaaS and Cloud Development
      • Database development (preferably with SQL, including Azure SQL) – designing and building database solutions (tables / stored procedures / forms / queries / etc.)
      • Knowledge of / Experience working with Containers, Docker, AKS, Micro Services and other technologies.

  • Business management within consulting, organizational change, program management, and related field expertise.
  • Demonstrated track record of effective communication with technical and business leaders at all levels within large enterprises.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Preferred:
  • Experience with Federal Customers, their processes and use of technologies.
  • Architect Development Program and/or TLDP / STLP program participants or individuals experienced with business development, account growth, delivery planning.
  • Experience with a diverse set of industries is a plus.
  • Secret Clearance or higher preferred.
